Pastor James Holmberg, Interim Pastor

Greetings in the name of Jesus the Christ.  It is my privilege to serve as the Interim Pastor of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Delafield.  This congregation is committed to following the example of Jesus, in serving their neighbors and being the hands and feet of Christ wherever there is need.   Compassion and a strong sense of community make this congregation a great place to be and make it a great fit for my own sense of “call.”

I live in Waukesha with my wife Marion, and three of our seven children.  Four daughters are grown and live in the Midwest.  We are also blessed with two grandchildren (both 2 years old) and another on the way.  Most recently, I was the Director of Church Relations for Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan, where I was able to work in development (fundraising) supporting services like adoption, refugee resettlement, and support for individuals with disabilities as well as representing Lutheran Disaster Response.

I’ve served congregations in Southeast Wisconsin and in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  I was born and raised in the Upper Peninsula, which makes me a “Yooper,” but a proud resident of Wisconsin for over 11 years.  I enjoy camping, skiing, kayaking, and spending time with my wife and family.

Together with the people of Christ the King Lutheran Church, our work is to “know Christ and make him known.”  I look forward to working together in ministry over the next months.

In Christ,

Pastor Jim Holmberg

Mark has a Bachelor of Arts degree in vocal music from Luther College and a Master of Divinity degree from Wartburg, graduating with academic honors.

He previously served as Voice Instructor at Carroll University. We are continually blessed by his leadership of music and his ability to engage the faith of the members of our congregation.

Sylvia Kreutzmann, Care Ministry

Sylvia is the mother of three sons and grandmother of seven beautiful children. She has a little, silky terrier Bandit, who is the “boss” at home. She is a retired registered nurse.

She organized the Care Ministry program about 6 years ago at CTK and visits the home-bound and hospitalized to offer conversation, prayers and communion. She also assists with funerals.

Each year she helps organize two senior luncheons. She attends the prayer shawl group and helps deliver them. She is a member of the outreach and membership committees.
